The Winged SerpentAlex was running as quickly as his brace would allow.  It would be dark soon and he knew he wouldn't stand a chance if he didn't make it to town before the sun set.  His brace was squeaking and rattling violently with every step.  Alex feared the sound would attract
the attention of all the foul beasts in the forest, but he dare not slow his pace.  He heard all the stories of the hellish fiends in those trees, feasting upon the flesh of those foolish enough to wander too deep.

"Alexaaandeerrr..." the voice taunted.  It was the sounds of a woman's voice, almost sickeningly sweet and innocent,
BulletI hold one bullet in my hand.  Upon it is carved a name.  A name which I cannot read.  I load the bullet into my pistol.  I close my eyes, take aim, and I pull the trigger.  A sharp staccato shot rings out.  There!  For one brief moment in the black I can read the name!  In horror I try to stop the bullet, but alas it is too late.  The name upon the bullet is my own.  Now in the darkness, I see a light far off, warm and comforting.  But the comfort fades and gives to anguish.  I now rest in the blankets of hellfire.
